The government has directed pharmacies and agro-vets to submit their licenses to their respective licensing authorities for verification within the next month or risk being closed down

In a move aimed at curbing unlicensed drug stores, all chemists and agro-vets are to submit their licenses to the Pharmacy and Poisons Board and Veterinary Medicines Directorate for verification within 30 days.

The Kenya Pharmaceutical Association (KPA) has warned of a looming crisis in the sector owing to a rift with Pharmaceutical Society of Kenya (PSK) following the tabling of the Kenya Drugs Authority Bill (KDA), 2022 in Parliament last week.
